Lazy Day...

Life has been quite crazy the last few weeks.  I have had to put in tons of hours at work.  EXHAUSTING hours.  Right now there is more work than I could possibly get done waiting for me, but there are times when you just need a break.  It will be there when I get back on Monday.  Today I am chosing to spend some quality time with the little man AT HOME!!! Sometimes you crave to just be home and take it easy.  And today is definitely that day.  It was much needed after such a hectic week @ work.

Unfortunately, finally spending time at home makes you look around your home... Hmmm... I may need to consider hiring a maid service of some sort.  Especially if I have to keep these hours up.  Housework feels overwhelming at this point.  BUT... Today I am gonna push those thoughts aside and focus on the more important things like spending time with my son and resting.  Yep... in pajamas... or as I like to say... pajama jama time.

I sure do love that son of mine.  God sure knew what he was doing putting that little boy into my life... AND making me wait for him.  He knew it would make me cherish him all the more.  Even when his nose is a snotty, runny mess... or he decides that he doesn't need to take a nap and yells out 'truct' 'truct' as he hears a truck backing up outside his bedroom window... or he refuses to eat the meals I put before him.  You parents out there know exactly where I am coming from.  There are all the little annoyances that come with parenting, but it is the love and preciousness of life that you choose to focus on.  Today, that is what I am focusing on.  Sure, B has a cold and new teeth coming in.  Sure, he is fussy and clingy.  But instead of getting upset about how it puts a damper on our day... I am so thankful that today was our planned at-home day.  Because I am the one that gets to be there for him when he feels miserable.  I am the one that he wants to cling to for comfort.  I get to be there when he needs me most.  I am a mother!

  1. Lazy days are the best! Although sometimes it is difficult to enjoy them fully when you know there is work to be done. I was SO disappointed when Kyle told me you guys stopped by with Bryson on Halloween! I wanted to see him in his cute little costume. We have to hang out soon! :)
