Weekend in Door County

Jim and I decided to take a trip to relax... just us!
Nana and Opa took B for the weekend and we took off to one of our favorite places...
Door County!
The weather was a bit cool, but we made the most of it!

After eating Swedish pancakes at Al Johnson's we headed out to our favorite spot for morning coffee/steamer.

We took a nice walk on a nearby path and enjoyed the crisp, fresh air.

We then went geocaching and found some neat spots.

We were exhausted by the afternoon so we went back to the hotel for a nice nap.  ZZzzzzzz...
(Gotta love the kid-free sleep!)

We then had pizza at Wild Tomato in Fish Creek

It was yummy!  The environment was cozy and fun.  The tables were a bit tight together, but it forced us to meet a few other couples.  It was fun to chat with them, exchange stories, and share tips of places to try while in Door.

One of the couples RAVED about breakfast at White Gull Inn.  So that is exactly where we went for Breakfast the next day.  We even ran into them there!

The Eggs Benedict and Fresh Toast was fabulous!

We then meandered our way back home, but we stopped along the way for a few caches.  One cache brought us to this lighthouse...

Oddly enough it is the most photographed lighthouse in Wisconsin.  I can see why!

Another cache brought us to Cave Point County Park.  At first the park seemed like a typical park, but once we got out and close to the water we realized why it was called Cave Point.  The waves carved caves into the shore rock and you could see some of them.  It was neat to hear the waves crash into the caves.

One of the locals told us to come again in the winter time.  The waves freeze against the rock and form neat ice formations.  We may have to go back there to see it.

It was a great weekend of relaxation, caching, eating, and child-free SLEEP!
Door County still remains one of our favorite places to visit!
